This is an original bolt yoyo, by the legendary Doctor Popular, up for auction. I believe the bolt was a special edition YoYoJam Projam, modded by Doc and released some time around 15-20 years ago. It’s siliconed and the catch zone appears to be lightly satined. I’m not the original owner, but I think they came like that from Doc Pop, or at least some did. This bolt has minor surface wear, what looks like a slight flaw from the injection molding or maybe string burn near one recess, and a little schmutz around the pog edges. I’m not seeing any chips or cracks or major issues at all really. I mean it’s an old yoyojam plastic, so while it’s been played and I’m sure smacked a belt buckle or two, these things are basically tanks. Overall, the pogs look good and are nice and tight, with just the faintest rattling. I don’t know what type of bearing it is, but it is working well and not too noisy as of now. Please see pics for actual condition. The yoyo has some typical vibe but it’s minor, and in my mind totally acceptable for a plastic from back then. I never really tried to tune this throw because I don’t think it needs it, as it’s actually surprisingly smooth and long spinning.So if you’ve played a ProJam or KickSide or Lyn, then you kinda know what you are getting here. But in my opinion, this guy is better than any of those I’ve played, modded or otherwise. And that’s coming from someone who absolutely adores the Lyn Fury… But if you haven’t thrown any old YoYoJam plastic, then this is an amazing place to start! This auction is for a YoyoJam Kickside plastic ball bearing yoyo silicone modded by Cyclontzy in turquoise. Cyclontzy (or Cyclon) was a young yoyo kid in the community back in the day who became known for his modding padawan skills. I had this classic Kickside commissioned by him with a double red silicone response, red silicone being the most durable of all the flowable silicone compounds. The Kickside was a classic round, wide, butterfly shaped plastic yoyo made out of YoyoJam's own proprietary Celcon plastic, which has a soapy texture. The Kickside is a wide plastic string trick yo-yo. This one is from around 2007. A signature model of Rick Wyatt. The body is made from Celcon plastic with adjustable gap and response system. This one has hybrid response, with starburst on one side and O-Ring on the other.
I guess I'd rate the condition near mint. It has a centering bearing installed, it's unresponsive with double silicone response, and plays it great. One of the most iconic plastics of all-time.
